Your Brookside Village pooper scooper
Dog poop removal in Brookside Village.
Brookside Village is a small city on Clear Creek in far northern Brazoria County, just south of the Houston city limits and the Harris County line. Pearland wraps around it on the east, south and west, and the two share the 77581 ZIP code. City Hall is at 6243 Brookside Road.
In 1936, a county highway map showed only scattered houses at the townsite. Brookside Village incorporated in 1959, had 560 residents by 1961 and 1,960 by 2000, and it has kept a quiet, semi-rural feel, with acre-plus lots and plenty of room for dogs inside the fence.
A big lot is a lot of ground to cover, so tell us what you need when you ask for a quote: a full sweep of a standard yard, or just the primary areas where your dogs spend their time. Neighbors get together at the Friends of Brookside Village potlucks, held in the city's community building at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.
The city keeps a close eye on its dogs. Every dog has to be registered with City Hall, with an up-to-date rabies certificate, and a dog may never run loose: at large means anywhere outside a pen, a fence, a leash, a chain or a rope. So most Brookside Village dogs spend their days inside a fenced yard, and on a big lot that's a lot of yard for waste to collect in.
The roads around town are changing, too. The City of Pearland and TxDOT plan to widen Mykawa Road from FM 518 to Beltway 8, a project the city says will affect Brookside Village, and it keeps a page of updates for residents. Whatever the traffic does, your yard visit happens on your service day, with a text when we're on the way.

Why it matters here
Brookside Village sits on Clear Creek. TCEQ lists the city in the Clear Creek watershed, which doesn't meet all of the state's water quality standards because of high fecal bacteria, and H-GAC's watershed protection plan names pet waste as the major contributor and asks residents to pick up after their pets. On a big lot, the rain has a lot of yard to wash through before it reaches the creek, and scooping keeps the waste out of its path.
